Dear EMS Families,
It has been a busy and positive week at Ernest Morrow School! Our students have continued to settle into their routines, get to know their teachers and classmates, and engage in the learning happening throughout the school. It was great to finish the week today with our grade-level assemblies, where we had the opportunity to come together, review important expectations, and talk about what it means to be a positive member of the EMS community.
Thank you to our students and staff for a great week. We are looking forward to building on this strong start as we head into another busy week at EMS!

School Community
School Council Meeting — September 28
Our next School Council meeting will take place on Monday, September 28 at 5:30 p.m. We welcome parents and guardians to join us and be part of our school community.
Breakfast for Students and Staff — October 2
We are excited to share that we will be hosting a breakfast for our students and staff on Friday, October 2, generously sponsored by the Rotary Club. We appreciate their support and look forward to bringing our school community together for a great start to the day!
Information for Parents and Guardians
As we begin the school year, I encourage parents and guardians to take some time to review two important CBE Administrative Regulations that help guide our approach to student behaviour, relationships, and maintaining a positive school environment:
- Administrative Regulation 6006 – Progressive Discipline: This regulation outlines the CBE's approach to addressing student behaviour and emphasizes teaching, supporting and reinforcing appropriate behaviour while responding to concerns in a fair and consistent manner.
- Administrative Regulation 6031 – Welcoming, Caring, Respectful and Safe Learning and Work Environments: This regulation outlines expectations and responsibilities for creating learning and work environments that are welcoming, caring, respectful and safe for all members of our school community.
These regulations provide helpful context for the expectations we have for students and the ways in which our school responds when concerns arise. We encourage families to review them on the CBE website as we work together to create a positive, respectful and safe environment for all students and staff.
