‘CommuniTea’ Indigenous Family Night
As the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's final report states, the historical and current relationship between public education and Indigenous Peoples is very complicated, and when evaluated on the factors that define healthy relationships, does not measure up well
One of the CBE's initiatives, is to rebuild relationship and establish trust and a true 'Ethical Space' where people can come together to create a learning environment that supports holistic health and development is the 'Communi’Tea Indigenous Family Night'. This is a recurring seasonal event where teachers, Indigenous students, and their families come together to eat, share, and learn from our incredible Elders and Knowledge Keepers about Indigenous ways of knowing and how these principles can benefit us all in the educational setting.
Volunteers Needed
We have a Casino coming up in June and we are looking for volunteers. For more information please contact Celia (Casino Chair) or Nadia (Parent Council Chair).
Reminder…We have new signs for the parking lot!
Please continue to drop off your students in the family parking lot. There should be no traffic past the signs that state “STOP” and “Student Drop-off and Pick-up Zone”. Only staff, buses and taxis should drive into the main staff parking lot. This is to ensure student safety.
