Hello EMS Parents and Guardians,

As we wrap up another week, I would like to thank our entire school community for another great week of learning at Ernest Morrow. It has been wonderful to see students engaged in their classrooms, supporting one another, and continuing to grow in their learning.

I would also like to take a moment to congratulate all of our volleyball teams as their season has now come to an end. Our student-athletes represented the school with great effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the season. A sincere thank you goes out to our coaches for the time, energy, and commitment they invested in supporting our students both on and off the court. Their dedication provides incredible opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and be part of our school community.

As we look ahead, school conferences will take place on March 19 and March 20. Conference sign-up will open on Monday morning, and we encourage families to book a time with their student’s teachers.

Spring Break will begin after conferences on March 20, and we look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday, March 30.

A flyer for a School Council FundScrip fundraiser was sent home with students today. All funds raised will go directly toward supporting student learning and activities at Ernest Morrow. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact the school.

All Grade 7–9 students who have opted in will begin the Human Sexuality component of the Health curriculum on April 13. If guardians have not yet returned the opt-in/opt-out forms, please have them returned to the school as soon as possible.

Topics covered in this unit include:

  • Understanding body changes and reproduction
  • Building healthy relationships and respect
  • Making informed and responsible decisions
  • Understanding risks and prevention

Thank you again to our students, staff, and families for contributing to another positive week at Ernest Morrow. I hope everyone has a restful and enjoyable weekend.
