Hello Parents and Guardians,

I hope this email finds you well.  You may have noticed that we have a new website!  We are working to update some of the information to ensure it is current.  Hopefully this new website will make access to school information a little easier.  

Reminder…Pick up and Drop Off

Please continue to drop off your students in the family parking lot.  There should be no traffic past the signs that state “No Drop Off Zone”.  Only staff, buses and taxis should drive into the main staff parking lot.  This is to ensure student safety in this often congested area.  

You may have also noticed the closure to a fence opening by the grade 6 doors.  We ask that students access the school through the front and move around to their allotted door.  Please remind your child not to climb the fence.  We have had a couple student injuries and want to ensure safety for all students.

  • February 26 – School Council and School Planning Community Engagement
    • 5:30 in the Learning Commons at Ernest Morrow School
  • February 27 – Engagement survey opens
  • February 28 – Pink Shirt Day - Students are encouraged to wear something pink to school. 

Learn and Share | School Planning

We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we’ll be sharing information about school planning and asking you to share your perspectives.

During this engagement, you will have the opportunity to:

Learn About

  • School planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget and school fees
  • How the school development plan sets the overall focus and direction for a school to improve student learning outcomes
  • How the school budget provides funding to implement our school development plan
  • School fees and why they are necessary

Participate

  • Participate in our in person school council meeting on February 26 to learn more about school planning. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback at this meeting.
  • Share your perspectives through an online survey open from February 27 to March 12.

We’ll send you a link to the survey, our school development plan and school budget and fees information when it’s available. We will also post it on our school website.
