Hello Parents and/or Guardians

We hope that everyone had a relaxing summer. We are excited to begin the 2025-2026 school year. Below is some information to support the transition into the school year.  If there are any questions, please reach out to the school.

Candace Gartshore, Assistant Principal

Zach Patterson, Assistant Principal

First Day of Classes

Our first day of classes for all Ernest Morrow School (EMS) students is Tuesday, September 2, 2025 and the school office is open to parents/guardians on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 9 AM.

Parents/guardians will not be allowed in the school unless they need to register a student at the main office on September 2, 2025.  If parents/guardians are accompanying student(s) to school, they will need to say goodbyes outside at designated entry doors (See below).

The purpose of the plan is:

  • To ease the transition of students into school,
  • To spend time with smaller groups familiarizing them with school protocols and processes,
  • To allow each child and accompanying family member to have a successful and memorable “first day of school” drop-off.
  • Only students are allowed in the building. Parents who are dropping children off will need to say their goodbyes near designated entrance doors.

Entry Doors by Grade

Grade 7: Enter through the main entrance doors, located by the bike cages on the West side of the building, and head into the main gym.

Grade 8: Please line up by your home room teachers sign located on the west field by the bike cages.

Grade 9: Please line up by your home room teachers sign located on the East side of the building at the basketball courts.

Teachers will have class lists to support students in finding their correct home room. An email will be sent through School Messenger to all parents/guardians indicating the home room teachers name on Friday at 2pm.

If you do not receive an email by 2pm on Friday, please call the school with your students first and last name, and grade.

There is a lot of congestion in our small staff parking lot. Parents and Guardians are asked not to drive up to the school to drop off their child, but to use the drop off loop where students can safely exit the vehicle.   Please keep the area in front of the main doors clear for students who are arriving in busses and taxis.   Let’s keep our students safe!
